The New Mexico Society of Hazardous Materials Managers (NMSHMM) was formed in 1998 as the marriage of two parent organizations, the former New Mexico Hazardous Waste Management Society (NMHWMS) and the Roadrunner Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP - formerly the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers).

NMSHMM hosts this 3-day course every year during the time of balloon fiesta, and is invaluable for the environmental professional looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of the disciplines involved with Hazardous Materials management and other Environmental fields. The course is designed as a preparatory course for the CHMM certification. We also offer a 1-day refresher which provides the annual CHMM point requirements. Thanks for visiting the NMSHMM Chapter Website. Our members are active participants and have established a great networking community in New Mexico. It is our goal to provide hazardous materials management and professional development forums during the monthly technical luncheons, specialty events and at local facility tours. We’re confident you will find, as we have, that your NMSHMM membership will open many professional doors for you as you take advantage of the state, local private, national, international, and specialty-directed experienced networking individuals.
